Mai Chau Weather, Best Time to Visit

Mai Chau is a district of Hoa Binh Province known for lovely valleys inhabited by Thai ethnic people. Mai Chau has a tropical monsoon climate: summer from late April through July, autumn from late August through October, winter from November through February, spring from March through April. From June through October, Mai Chau may be affected by tropical depressions or typhoons which may cause Route 6 flooded and landslides on this route.

From late April through July, sometimes through August, Mai Chau may be affected by the foehn wind which causes dry and hot temperatures. From late July through August, there are tiny insects like fleas or bugs in the villages which are quite annoying to the visitors as well as the locals.

The best time to visit Mai Chau
The best time to visit Mai Chau is during the dry season from December to May. In late January and February, there are beautiful peach and plum blossoms which make the landscape captivating. While it may get cold in December and January, the temperatures are mostly pleasant from February through April.

Fans of travel photography may like to visit Mai Chau during the golden rice periods: late May or late August through September.
