Hung Yen Province is located in the Red River Delta and to the east of Hanoi. Hung Yen is among those provinces in northern Vietnam where traditional culture is well preserved.
Tourist attractions in Hung Yen Province
1/ Pho Hien (Hien Ancient Town)
In the Central Region of Vietnam, Hoi An was famous as a trading town and in the North of Vietnam there were Hanoi and Hien Town. Then came difficult times and international merchants stopped traveling to Pho Hien. The legacy can still be found nowadays.
2/ Nom Village
The village has a strange name yet uniquely Vietnamese! There are ancient houses, a Buddhist pagoda and an interesting market to visit.
3/ Ban Soy Sauce Village
The sauce is famed in Vietnam and used in several Vietnamese dishes.
4/ Incense Village of Cao Thon
This is where you learn how to make incense sticks where are used in most Vietnamese houses. You will also have great photos after the visit, too.
5/ Thu Si Village
The village specializes in basketry (basket-weaving, basket-sewing). The once-thriving occupation in Vietnam is now vanishing and Thu Si still sticks to it preserving some amazing things of the past.
