What to see, Tourist Attractions
1/ Nhat Le Beach
The beach with white sand is right in the Dong Hoi City. It is possible to walk to the beach from the city center.
2/ Bao Ninh Beach
The beach is on the Bao Ninh Peninsula which is separated from Dong Hoi’s inland by the Nhat Le River. To get to the Bao Ninh Beach we have to cross the Nhat Le Beach.
3/ Quang Binh Quan (Quang Binh Gate)
Quang Binh Quan was part of a system of defense walls called Luy Thay from the Trinh – Nguyen Conflict during the 17-18th centuries. In the past, to travel between northern and southern Vietnam everyone had to travel through Quang Binh Quan.
4/ The Tam Toa Church Ruin
The original church had a Portuguese architectural style but it was destroyed by US bombardments in 1965. Only the chapel is left.
5/ Dong Hoi Night Market
The night market has a funky vibe. This is where you can get some fun time, try local food, get some souvenirs.

How to get there and away
1/ By air
It is possible to travel to Dong Hoi by air from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City.
2/ By train
There are several overnight trains between Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh City which stop at Dong Hoi.
3/ By road
There are Ho Chi Minh Road as well as the Route 1A that travel through the north and south of Vietnam and that you could get to Dong Hoi. Dong Hoi is 500km south of Hanoi and 180km north of Hue.
