Lai Chau Province is the Northwest of Vietnam. The provincial capital city is Lai Chau City, 420km from Hanoi via Route 32, 120km from Lao Cai City and 80km from Sapa, 220km from Dien Bien Phu City.

Lai Chau is tucked to the remote Northwest of Vietnam in between Dien Bien and Lao Cai. The province is known for wild towering mountains which offer the most physically and mentally challenging experiences like Ky Quan San (Bach Moc Luong Tu), Ngu Chi Son (The Five Fingers Mountain), Pu Ta Leng, Ta Lien Son.

Lai Chau Province has a tropical monsoon climate with two distinct seasons: dry from December through April and rainy season from May through October. The monsoons combined with the terrain of high mountains dissected by small valleys and ravines and with steep gradients shape up the climate in Lai Chau.

The Ky Quan San Mountain also known as Bach Moc Luong Tu Mountain straddles Bat Xat District of Lao Cai Province and Phong Tho District of Lai Chau Province. The mountain is 3,046m above sea level and is the second highest mountain peak in Vietnam.

Na Khuong Village is home to the Thai People in Ban Bo Commune, Tam Duong District, Lai Chau Province. The village is in an idyllic valley with the Nam Mu River and with sublime mountains all around. There are amazingly huge water wheels to irrigate the paddy fields in the valley which make the scene more spectacular!

The Pavie Path was built by the French in 1927 connecting Lai Chau Province and Lao Cai Province. The path name was after a French Governor and explorer, Auguste Jean-Marie Pavie. The French built the path for transporting cardamom, other forest produce and minerals from Lai Chau to an air strip in Lao Cai (near Nhiu Co San Village) and for security patrol protecting the border region.

Si Chau Thai Village is home to the Dao People in Ho Thau Commune, Tam Duong District, Lai Chau Province. The village is perched on 1,400m altitude with mountains and forest around.

Sin Suoi Ho Village is in Sin Suoi Ho Commune, Phong Tho District, Lai Chau Province. The village is on an elevation of 1,500m and is home to the Hmong People.
