 - Visiting ethnic villages: The most popular ethnic villages are found around Hoa Binh City and in Mai Chau which are 76km and 150km from Hanoi respectively. - Beholding a Thai or Muong Traditional Dance: There are villages that a traditional dance for 1 hour is available to the visitors.

- Have a boat trip on the Da River: A part of the Da River has been blocked by a dam to make up a reservoir for the hydro power plant at Hoa Binh City.
