The Tieu Son Pagoda is in Tuong Giang Commune, Tu Son City, Bac Ninh Province. The pagoda was where King Ly Cong Uan who is considered among the most visionary kings in Vietnam grew up. King Ly Cong Uan was the one who moved the capital city of Vietnam from Hoa Lu (Ninh Binh) to Thang Long (Hanoi nowadays).
The Tieu Son Pagoda is among the most simple in architecture in Vietnam given its history and influence in the Vietnamese history. At the Tieu Son Pagoda, there is no donation box which is similar to no other pagodas and temples in Vietnam. All renewal work, should there be, will be donated by villagers.
How to get there
The Tieu Son Pagoda can be reached by a bicycle trip or by car from Hanoi. The distance is 25km and the trip takes half a day.
