August is between summer and autumn in northern Vietnam with more likely sunny weather, with rain occasionally, and with pleasant temperatures (34-38oC).
August is between the dry season with hot temperatures and rainy season with pleasant temperatures in the Central Coast of Vietnam. This region is to experience sun, and with warm or pleasant temperatures throughout the month. There may be rain or not depending on a specific year.
August is the rainy season in the Central Highlands and southern Vietnam. The temperatures in the Central Highlands are 19-31oC and those in southern Vietnam are 26-32/33 oC.
The prevalent winds in Vietnam in August are

This wind is a regional version of the Southwesterly Monsoon. This wind is often not the dominant factor impacting the Central Coast in August.
- The Southwesterly Wind, which comes from the Equator, causes daily rain in the Central Highlands and in southern Vietnam. This wind helps to bring pleasant temperatures in southern Vietnam and in the places on low altitudes of the Central Highlands, cool temperatures in the places on high altitudes.

Weather-related dangers in Vietnam in August may include:
- Flash floods, landslides, rockslides in the far northern mountains of Vietnam;
- Flash floods in the Central Highlands;
- Strong current of open sewer systems in cities in the Central Highlands and in southern Vietnam (especially in Dong Nai and Binh Duong Provinces);
- Leakage current in flooded streets in all over Vietnam after heavy rain.
