Things to do in Quang Tri Vietnam

Quang Tri is a province in the Central Region of Vietnam. The capital of Quang Tri is Dong Ha City, 600km south of Hanoi. Quang Tri has several sites which mark famous battles during the Vietnam War (or American War).

The province is not much visited by foreign visitors to Vietnam. Only adventure travelers and those who are interested in history make trips to the province for a couple of days. Below you can find what to do in Quang Tri which may take you anything from one day to several days.Vinh Moc Citadel, Quang Tri, Vietnam

- Taking military historical tours visiting former battlefields and historical landmarks: the DMZ, Route 9, Rockpile, the Dakrong Bridge, Ta Con Airfield, Khe Sanh Combat Base, Vinh Moc Tunnel, the former Military Demarcation Line between North and South Vietnam,...to name a few of the sites of interest.

- Taking an adventure beach vacation far from the crowds: Quang Tri possesses blue sea and sandy beaches which are mostly free from tourists. There are some serious problems with beach erosion in Quang Tri nowadays and hopefully the authorities may find the solutions soon.

- Taking a cycling tour through Quang Tri countryside: the province like others in Vietnam is home to peaceful and idyllic villages. You can start your cycling from Dong Ha City.

- Taking a motorcycle tour/scooter tour through Quang Tri: If you have good riding experience, then embark on an adventure of a lifetime by motorbike zipping through Quang Tri Ho Chi Minh Trail taking in breathtaking mountainscape and idyllic countryside. Be warned that you have to have good experience in riding in Asia.
