Things to do in Dien Bien Vietnam

Dien Bien is in the Northwest of Vietnam, off the tourist track by far. Dien Bien Phu, 500km northwest of Hanoi, is the capital city of the province. While the provide is only visited by war veterans and adventurous travelers, Dien Bien is definitely a very interesting place to visit on your trip to Vietnam.  - Visit the former battlefield of Dien Bien Phu to learn about the major battle that helps to shape up some of the World’s modern history. - Visit Muong Phang Valley where the Viet Minh’s headquarters was located during the Dien Bien Phu Campaign. Apart from visiting the historical site, you can climb the Pu Huot Mountain where General Giap observed the Dien Bien Phu Battle during the campaign.

- Cycling in the Muong Phang Valley: a pleasant experience riding amid Thai villages to the serene and leafy waters of the Pa Khoang Lake.

- Motorcycling on the sublime mountainous roads of Dien Bien Province from the Pha Din Pass to Muong Lay (former Lai Chau). This is one of the most scenic mountainous roads in the North West of Vietnam.
