2/ Villa Branche (White Village, Bach Dinh)
The villa, 30m above sea level, was built by the French (1898-1916). It was first the holiday villa for the General Governor of Indochina, Paul Doumer. Later the villa was reserved for officials of the South Vietnam Republic.
The villa, which serves as a museum now, offers great views of the sea. There is a good collection of ceramics dating back to the 17th century rescued from a sunken ship. Beside the history and artefacts, Villa Branche with its amazing architecture and atmosphere is quite popular for most visitors to Vung Tau City.
