Vietnam Weather in November 2019

November is end of autumn in the North and about the beginning of the winter up here. The North still have pleasant daily temperatures, the air gets drier and, often it gets chilly at night. There may be but not very often typhoons in the North during this month.

 In the Central Region, November is the rainy season with more often daily torrential and incessant rains. The Central Region and the Central Highlands may receive typhoons in November which may cause floods for 3-7 days and landslides. Sometimes road traffic and trains between North and South Vietnam are halted during a flood.

November is about the end of the rainy season in the Central Highlands and South of Vietnam, it is more often to be cloudy everyday, but there may be sunshine sometimes. The temperatures are lovely and it may be chilly at night even in the Mekong Delta.

1/ North of Vietnam
In the first week of 2019, it was mostly cloudy or rainy days in the first half of the week and extremely beautiful weather in the second half of the week in all of northern Vietnam with fairly pleasant temperatures. It is cold in the far northern mountains.

- Northeast of Vietnam (Lang Son, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Ha Giang, Thai Nguyen): clouds and rains in the first half of the week and lovely sunshine in the second half, 13-28oC. Dong Van Plateau rains in the first half of the week and sunshine in the second one, 9-19oC.

- Northwest of Vietnam:
+ Hoa Binh, Yen Bai, Lao Cai: sun clouds and isolated rains in the first half of the week; lovely sunshine in the second half; 17-28oC. Sapa had mostly sun, clouds, rains, 10-19oC. Mu Cang Chai had little sun, mostly clouds, some rains, 13-21oC. Mai Chau had rains for the first half, sunshine in the second, 19-27oC.
+ Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau: sun and rains in the first half, lovely sun and clouds in the second half, 17-30oC. Moc Chau was had clouds and rains in the first half of the week, sun in the second half, 12-18oC.

- Lowlands (Halong Bay, Hai Phong, Hanoi, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh): rains for a couple of days at the beginning, lovely sun and temperatures mostly, 18-28oC in Halong Bay and Hai Phong, 18-29oC in Hanoi and the Red River Delta.

 The second week of November 2019 came through with extremely pleasant weather in northern Vietnam in the first half of the week. The second half of the week marked a new spell of cool Northeasterly Monsoon which brought down the temperatures, light scattered rains in the north for a couple of days, and cloudy skies.

- Northeast of Vietnam (Lang Son, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Ha Giang, Thai Nguyen): sun and clouds mostly, light scattered rains for a couple of days, 12-28oC. Dong Van Plateau had sun and clouds mostly, isolated rains for a day, 9-19oC.

- Northwest of Vietnam:
+ Hoa Binh, Yen Bai, Lao Cai: sun clouds mostly, isolated rains for a day, 16-28oC. Sapa had mostly sun, clouds, isolated rains in two days, 9-19oC. Mu Cang Chai had mostly sun and clouds, some rains in a day, 11-23oC. Mai Chau had sun and clouds mostly, isolated rains in a day, 15-26oC.
+ Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau: sun and clouds mostly, isolated rains in Son La in a day, 13-28oC. Moc Chau had sun mostly, isolated rains in a day, 12-19oC.

- Lowlands (Halong Bay, Hai Phong, Hanoi, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh): lovely sunshine for the first half of the week, light isolated rains in the later half of the week, 17-26oC in Halong Bay and Hai Phong, 16-28oC in Hanoi and the Red River Delta.

The third week of November 2019 was marked by exceptionally beautiful weather in northern Vietnam which made it among the best time to visit Vietnam. A renewed spell of Northeasterly Monsoon swept in at mid week which caused clouds and some rains for a couple of days in some regions the North only.

- Northeast of Vietnam (Lang Son, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Ha Giang, Thai Nguyen): sun and clouds mostly, some isolated rains for a couple of days, 13-25oC mostly. Dong Van Plateau had sun and clouds mostly, isolated rains for a day, 11-18oC.

- Northwest of Vietnam:
+ Hoa Binh, Yen Bai and Lao Cai had sun, isolated showers in two days, 17-23oC mostly, 18-27oC for a couple of days. Sapa had sun mostly, some rains in a day, 12-20oC. Mu Cang Chai had sun and clouds mostly, some rains in a day, 14-21oC. Mai Chau had sun, clouds, some rains in a day, 16-28oC.

+ Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau: sun and clouds mostly, isolated rains in Son La in a day, 14-30oC. Moc Chau had sun mostly, isolated rains for a couple of days, 12-20oC.

- The lowlands (Halong Bay, Hai Phong, Hanoi, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh): sun, clouds, some isolated rains in two days, 16-27oC in Halong Bay and Hai Phong, 16-28oC in Hanoi and the Red River Delta.

The fourth week of November 2019 marked exceptionally beautiful weather in the North of Vietnam alternated by cloudy days with isolated rains caused by successive spells of the cold Northeasterly Monsoon.

- Northeast of Vietnam (Lang Son, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Ha Giang, Thai Nguyen): sun and clouds, isolated rains, 11-27oC mostly. Dong Van Plateau had sun and clouds mostly, isolated rains for a couple of days, 9-18oC.

- Northwest of Vietnam:
+ Hoa Binh, Yen Bai and Lao Cai had sun, clouds, isolated showers, 15-26oC. Sapa had sun, clouds, rains, 9-17oC. Mu Cang Chai had sun, clouds, rains, 11-23oC. Mai Chau had sun, clouds, some rains for a couple of days, 15-27oC.
+ Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau: sun and clouds mostly, 13-28oC. Moc Chau had sun mostly, isolated rains, 11-18oC.

- The lowlands (Halong Bay, Hai Phong, Hanoi, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh): sun, clouds, some isolated rains, 18-26oC in Halong Bay and Hai Phong, 18-28oC in Hanoi and the Red River Delta.

2/ The North of the Central Region (Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh)
In the first week of November, the region had mixed sun, clouds, rains, 18-28oC.

The second week of November 2019 the region had sun, clouds, rains, 17-27oC.

The third week of November 2019 the region had sun, clouds for the first half of the week; and clouds, rains for the second half as under the influence of the Northeasterly Monsoon, 17-28oC.

The fourth week of November 2019 Thanh Hoa had mostly sun and clouds; the others had clouds and isolated rains; 18-27oC.

3/The coastal areas in the Central Region of Vietnam (Central Coast of Vietnam including: Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan)
In the first week of November 2019, the Central Coast of Vietnam entered the rainy season with mixed weather: rains, clouds and sun. The temperatures started to get high in some regions.

- Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Hue: little sun, clouds, mostly rains, 22-29oC.
- Da Nang, Hoi An: clouds, rains, 22-29oC.
- Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen: little sun, clouds and rains mostly, 22-30oC.
- Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan: little sun, mostly clouds and rains, 23-31oC.

 In the second week of November, the Central Coast suffered from Typhoon No. 6 in Vietnam in 2019 (Typhoon Nakri) which hit Binh Dinh and Phu Yen causing torrential rains in the South Central Coast and the Central Highlands.

- Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Hue: little sun, clouds and mostly rains, 22-28oC.
- Da Nang, Hoi An: clouds, rains, 22-28oC.
- Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen: clouds and rains mostly, 23-28oC.
- Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan: some clouds, mostly rains, 23-29oC.

In third week of November 2019, the Central Coast had some sun given it is amid the rainy season.

- Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Hue: little sun, clouds and mostly rains, 22-28oC.
- Da Nang, Hoi An: little sun, clouds, rains, 22-29oC.
- Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen: sun, clouds, rains, 22-31oC.
- Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan: sun, clouds, some rains in Nha Trang, 22-32oC.

The fourth week of November was with typical rainy season weather: clouds, mostly rains.

- Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Hue: some sun in the first half of the week; clouds and rains for the later half of the week; 17-28oC.
- Da Nang, Hoi An: little sun, clouds, rains mostly, 23-29oC.
- Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen: little sun, clouds, rains, 20-28oC.
- Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan: sun, clouds mostly; some rains in Nha Trang and Phan Rang, 22-32oC.

4/ The Central Highlands of Vietnam (Kon Tum, Gia Lai - Pleiku, Dak Lak - Buon Ma Thuot, Lam Dong)
November is about the end of the rainy season and it was not like that at the beginning of November 2019.
In the first week it was mostly with clouds, t-storms and rains, 17-29oC. Da Lat got clouds, rains, t-storms, 13-23oC.

The second week the region had sun and clouds mostly, some isolated rains, torrential rains for a day during the influence of Typhoon Nakri (Typhoon No. 6 in 2019 in Vietnam), 17-28oC. Da Lat had sun and clouds mostly, some isolated rains, torrential rains during Typhoon Nakri, 14-22oC.

Third week of November 2019 the Central Highlands had sun, clouds, 17-29oC. Da Lat had sun, clouds, some isolated rains in a day, 14-25oC.

The fourth week was with mostly sun, some clouds; some rains in Kon Tum; 17-30oC. Da Lat had mostly sun, some clouds, 14-24oC.

5/The South of Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh, Vung Tau, Dong Nai, and the Mekong Delta)
November is about the end of the rainy season in South Vietnam. There are often days with clouds, t-storms and rains still.
In the first week of November 2019, the South had some sun, clouds, isolated rains.

- Vung Tau, Saigon, Mekong Delta had sun, clouds, isolated rains and t-storms, 25-30oC in Vung Tau, 23-33oC in Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta.
- Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc: sun, clouds, isolated rains and t-storms, 22-32oC;
- Con Dao Islands have clouds, t-storms, 26-28oC.
- Phu Quoc Island had some sun, clouds, isolated rains, 25-30oC.

Second week the region had sun, clouds and isolated rains or t-storms.

- Vung Tau, Saigon, Mekong Delta had little sun, mostly clouds and isolated rains and t-storms, 24-29oC in Vung Tau, 22-32oC in Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta.
- Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc: sun, clouds, isolated rains and t-storms, 22-32oC;
- Con Dao Islands had clouds, isolated t-storms, some strong winds, 26-28oC.
- Phu Quoc Island had some sun, mostly clouds, some isolated rains, 25-30oC.

Third week of November 2019, the South of Vietnam had mostly sun, clouds and pleasant temperatures.

- Vung Tau, Saigon, Mekong Delta had sun and clouds mostly, scattered showers in the Mekong Delta, 25-29oC in Vung Tau, 24-33oC in Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta.
- Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh: sun mostly, clouds, some isolated rains in the first half of the week, 22-32oC.
- Con Dao Islands had clouds, strong winds, 27-29oC.
- Phu Quoc Island has sun, clouds, isolated showers in a day, 25-30oC.

The fourth week in South Vietnam:

- Vung Tau, Saigon, Mekong Delta had sun and clouds mostly, isolated showers on some days, 25-30oC in Vung Tau, 24-34oC in Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta.
- Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh: mostly sun and clouds; some isolated rains or t-storms on two days; 22-34oC.
- Con Dao Islands had clouds, strong winds, 26-29oC.
- Phu Quoc Island has mostly sun, clouds, isolated rains on two days, 25-32oC.
