General Weather Patterns in Vietnam in February
February is spring in northern Vietnam with temperatures ranging from freezing to cold ( 0oC to 10oC-27oC).
February is the dry season with pleasant temperatures in the Central Coast of Vietnam.
February is the dry season in the Central Highlands and southern Vietnam. The temperatures in the Central Highlands are 15-32oC and those in southern Vietnam are 21-33oC.
The prevalent winds in Vietnam in February is often the Northeasterly Wind which has impact on almost all of Vietnam. In northern Vietnam, there is also the Southeasterly Wind at times that causes moist air in the Red River Delta.
In February, the Northeasterly Wind may cause light rain in the North. This is because the wind may brush more along the coast accumulating moisture before hitting the inland of northern Vietnam. The wind is often weak, hence dry weather in the Central Coast and dry season in the Central Highlands and in southern Vietnam. Due to the weak wind that the temperatures in the Central Highlands and southern Vietnam may be warm sometimes.
The Northeasterly Wind causes rough sea all over the country from the top north to the bottom south of Vietnam.
Possible Dangers From Extreme Weather: Snow in the mountains of the North of Vietnam
There are rarely chances of dangerous weather in Vietnam in February which, if any, may come from snowy or cold weather in the far northern region. If it snows, the roads in the mountainous regions of northern Vietnam become very slippery and vehicles are not prepared for this.
