23November2018 The tropical depression has strengthened to be typhoon No. 9 (Usagi) in the East Vietnam Sea in 2018.
- 04:00 A.M: Usagi is 450km east the coast of Ninh ThuanProvince carrying systained winds of 60-75km per hour. The projected path in the next 24 hours is WSW.
- 07:00 A.M: Usagi is 410km east of Phan Rang Thap Cham City (Ninh Thuan, in South Central Coast of Vietnam) and 610km from Vung Tau City (Southeast of South Vietnam). The tropical storm packs sustained winds of 75-90kphn and is forecast to head wsw.
- 19:00: Usagi is 240km east of Nha Trang, 310km from Phan Thiet and 370km from Vung Tau packing sustained winds of 90-100kph. The projected path in the coming 12 hours is west.
24November2018: Usagi continues its westward path.
- 04:00 A.M the tropical storm is 110km east of the Phu Quy Island, 210km from Phan Thiet, 300km from Vung Tau carrying sustained winds of 75-100kph. The projected path in the next 24 hours is west. Usagi is forecast to make landfall on the coast between Ninh Thuan and Ben Tre Provinces in southern Vietnam in the next 24 hours.

25November2018:
- 0400 A.M: Usagi is 60km from Vung Tau and 110km from Ben Tre packing sustained winds of 60-75kph.
- 0700 A.M: The typhoon is in the sea area between the south of Binh Thuan Province and Ben Tre Province. The tropical storm is causing heavy rains from Thua Thien Hue Province, the Central Highlands and the South of Vietnam. The typhoon is expected to weaken to be a tropical depression after making landfall.
- Noon Usagi has made landfall on the coast between Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Ben Tre and has weakened to be a tropical depression with sustained winds of 40-60kph.
- 1300: the tropical depression is in the area between south of Binh Thuan to Ben Tre. The projected path in the next 12 hours is wnw. The tropical depression is expected to be in the border area between Vietnam and Cambodia at 01:00 A.M on 26November2018. Torrential rains have been found in the Central Region of Vietnam, Central Highlands and South Vietnam. This is the last news of Usagi.
