1/ Moc Chau Plateau
Get lost in the rolling hills and temperate climate of the fresh plateau of Moc Chau. It is quite popular for Vietnamese tourists in the summer and when the peach and plum forests and spinach fields are in full blossoms. The lovely temperatures make Moc Chau extremely popular at weekends in the summer when people from the lowlands try to get away from the heat.
In Moc Chau, you can cycle amid the rolling tea plantations and get yourself great photographs. You can also enjoy leisurely hike amid the beautiful flower fields or visit families who raise cows for milk to learn about their life. 2/ Former Battlefields in Son La
Visit former battlefields in Son La. Yes, the province was where fierce battle took place during the Franco – Viet Minh War (1946-1954). The most famous sites are Moc Chau, Na San, Co Noi Road Intersection and Pha Din Pass.
3/ Mount Pha Luong
Take a challenge to conquer Mount Pha Luong. It takes a full day and it is a hard trek. To get to the base of the mountain in rainy weather is not possible though. The hike to the top is a real physically daunting challenge.

Take a motorbike tour through Son La and visit less seen corners of the land. It is an adventure of a lifetime and it requires good riding experience though. The best time to take the adventure is from December through April.
6/ Trekking Tour to the Summit of the Sa Mu Mountain
The Sa Mu Mountain is at Xim Vang Commune, Bac Yen District, Son La Province. A trekking tour to the summit of Mount Sa Mu takes 2 days and 1 night from the mountain base. If you start and conclude the trip from Hanoi then it should take an extra day.
