Quang Nam is located to the south of Da Nang, in the Central Region (Central Coast) of Vietnam. Most foreign visitors to the country visit Hoi An, a famed ancient town in Quang Nam Province.
The provincial capital of Quang Nam is Tam Ky City.

1/ Hoi An Old Town
The town was once a thriving trading port in the Central Region of Vietnam. The town was called at by merchants from around the world. 2/ My Son Cham Ruins
The Cham Ruins are what left of a major religious center of the Champa Kingdom which thrived in the Central Region and South Central Region of Vietnam until the 15th century. Please visit our travel guide to My Son Cham Ruins.
3/ Tra Kieu, Chien Dan Cham Towers
These sites are legacy from the Champa Kingdom. Tra Kieu was once the capital of the kingdom.
4/ Cu Lao Cham Island
This is an offshore island that can be visited from Hoi An. There are untouched beaches, local fishing communities, and lovely ecosystem. From mainland, there are speedboats to travel to the island. We would not recommend visits to this island due to not good safety conditions.
5/ The beaches
There are several beaches at Cua Dai, An Bang, Ha My… of which the best are near Hoi An.
6/ Waterfalls
The Truong Son Mountain Range runs almost of the full length of Vietnam from north to south on the western flank of the country. To the west of Quang Nam, there are forested mountains of the Truong Son Range which are home to several ethnic groups and beautiful waterfalls.

7/ Dong Giang Tea Hills
The district is to the west of Quang Nam, near the Central Highlands. The hills can be visited if you enter the province from Ho Chi Minh Trails or from the Central Highlands.

9/ Ky Anh Tunnel (Tam Ky City)
The 32km long tunnel is not much compared to those at Cu Chi and Vinh Moc. But the lives of the locals in the tunnels during the war were the same. The tunnel is 10km northeast of Tam Ky City. While there were heavy bombardments at Vinh Moc, there were heavy search-and-destroy operations in Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and around Cu Chi.
10/ Ethnic Villages and Mountain Peaks in Dong Giang and Tay Giang Districts
You could spend a week visiting the mountain peaks, waterfalls, nature reserves in these two districts.
11/ Tam Hai Island
The island is 40km from Tam Ky, in Nui Thanh District. The island is off from mass tourism.
