10 local tour operators and travel agents were licensed to operate adventure tours by The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong Province on 20July2017. This is the first time that adventure travel has been officially recognized by the authority.

Da Lat with the elevation of 1475m above sea level is perched on the Lang Biang Plateau, south of the Central Highlands of Vietnam. The whole region was well hidden from the outside world until the late 19th century when it was discovered by by a Swiss French bacteriologist named Alexandre John Emile Yersin.

Da Lat has a subtropical highland climate with temperature weather all year round; the temperatures are rarely higher than 30oC and rarely lower than 5oC. There are two seasons per year: dry season from December through April, rainy season from May through November.

Da Lat is 320km northeast of Ho Chi Minh City (also known as Saigon). Da Lat is located on the Lang Biang Plateau, one in the south of a series of plateaus in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. The convenient means of transportation to travel from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Lat are as follows:

9December2012 VietJetAir Started its first flight between Hanoi and Da Lat Vietnam. The flight is daily departing Hanoi Noi Bai Airport at 09:35A.M and arriving at Da Lat Lien Khuong Airport at 11:15 A.M. The return flight departs at 11:50 A.M. The air firm uses Airbus 320 with 180 seats for these flights.

From 22Mar2014 VietJetAir begins flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Da Lat. Earlier, there were only flights by Vietnam Airlines on this route. Besides, the air firm operates regular flights between Hanoi - Da Lat and Vinh - Da Lat.
