Blue-rumped bird

These two birds have similar colors which may cause confusion at at glance: blue nape, blue upperparts, brown underparts.

The difference between Blue-naped Pitta and Blue-rumped Pitta in Vietnam:

1/ Blue-naped pitta (Hydrornis nipalensis)

- Brown front;

- Brown face;

2/ Blue-rumped pitta (Hydrornis soror)

- Grey front;

- Some have gray face;
