From 22-March-2020 Vietnam suspends entry to all foreigners including overseas Vietnamese who are under visa-exemption policy. Earlier Vietnam had announced to halt granting visas to all nationalities in effort to curb the spread of the new coronavirus.
From March 21, 2020 all arrivals in Vietnam are to stay under quarantine in government facilities for 14 days. Those who travel to Vietnam on diplomatic purposes are in quarantine at facilities assigned by such diplomatic bodies under supervision by Vietnamese authorized medical authorities and Vietnamese authorities.
Due to spread of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) and closure of borders by different countries, Vietnam Airlines halts all its international flights till April 30, 2020.
In an effort to curb the spread of the new coronavirus COVID, the Vietnamese government is to stop granting visas to all nationalities for 30 days. The new policy is to come into effect from 00:00 18-March-2020.

From 15-March-2020 12:00 P.M Vietnam denies entry to tourists who are from, or who transit via Schengen, Great Britain and Northern Ireland of which the transit date is not exceeding 14 days before entering Vietnam. Visas on arrival are temporarily halted. The new policy is having effect for one month.
Entries for other purposes are to conform to the applicable policies.
Amid the concern of the widespread of the coronavirus disease (COV-19) the Vietnamese Government has decided to halt visa exemption policy for 8 European nations which are Danmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Great Britain, Germany, France, Spain.
The new policy is to start its effect from 10-March-2020.
From March 7, 2020 all travelers arriving into Vietnam are to complete a health declaration form requesting basic medical information and health information. The completion of the form can be done online or on paper. There are medical staffs at the arrival port to stamp the forms for verification. The forms are in English or other languages. There are interpreters of several languages at the arrival ports to assist the travelers with. If there are any symptoms related to the coronavirus, then the traveler will be transferred to a quarantine center.
Vietnam Airlines halts all flights between Vietnam and South Korea from 5-March-2020. This is to help fight the transmission of the coronavirus disease. South Korea has seen increasing cases infected with the coronavirus (COVID-19). Vietnam has had all 16 coronavirus-infected cases fully recovered and released from the hospital by far. The Vietnamese authorities have strict restrictions on travel to and from infected countries and destinations.
From 03-March-2020 Vietnam halts the visa exemption policy to the Italian Nationals. This is a temporary measure to help mitigate the spread of coronavirus into Vietnam. Italy is surging numbers of newly infected cases of the coronavirus disease.
From 28-February-2020 Vietnam halts the visa exemption policy to South Korean Nationals. This is a temporary measure to help mitigate the spread of coronavirus into Vietnam. South Korea is another country apart from China with surging numbers of newly infected cases.
By far (28-February-2020), Vietnam has had 16 infected cases and all have been fully recovered and discharged from hospital. On 28-February-2020 US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have removed Vietnam from the list of countries with the danger of COVID-19 community widespread transmission.
