5Jan2012, Emirates announced that the airlines is to begin flights between Dubai and Ho Chi Minh City from 4June2012. Vietnam Aviation Authority confirmed on the same day that the airlines was preparing formalities for having daily flights to Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

According to Emirates, the airlines will be using Airbus330-200 aircrafts with 27 Business-Class seats and 251 Economy-Class seats for the flights to/fromHo Chi Minh City. The arrival time will be at 19:20 and the departure flight will be at 20:50 at Tan Son Nhat Airport. Emirates also disclosed that the airlines is planning to use Boeing B777-300 ER aircrafts for the flights to/from Ho Chi Minh City from 28October2012.
With the flights to Ho Chi Minh City, Emirates will be the second airlines which offers flights to Vietnam. Currently, Qatar has daily flights between Doha and Ho Chi Minh City, Doha and Hanoi with one stop at Bangkok. There are surging demand for air travel between the Middle East and Vietnam recently. People on these flights travel to Vietnam for tourism, for trade and investment.
